What did you do this summer? GEAR UP staff, educators and students stayed busy attending conferences, workshops, camps and programs across the state.

 

Thanks to a partnership with the Portland Timbers, 100 students from 5 high schools learned about the variety of career options available as part of a professional sports organization.

Our partnership with The Alliance focuses on college fit and helping educators and students explore private colleges as an option.

 

GEAR UP educators explored data, learned new strategies and looked ahead during our three-day professional development and planning retreat.

 

Research shows that when students understand the relevance of a college education they are more likely to attend. Therefore, it's important to help students explore career options and connect their aspirations to the appropriate education pathway.
