What/who was the biggest influence on your decision to go to college?
My biggest influence on my decision to go to college has been my parents. They have always emphasized the importance of a higher education and have been very supportive in all our decisions.  My older brother has always been an importance influence in going to college because of his dedication and ability to overcome obstacles throughout his college career.

What is one of the best things about college?
One of the best things about college would have to be getting to know a diverse population with diverse perspectives.  Not only that but building strong connections with different individuals whom are there for you as a support system throughout our college experience. As well as having the opportunity to attend the National Hispanic Leadership Conference in Chicago Illinois for two consecutive years.

What was your most memorable GEAR UP moment?
I would say my most memorable GEAR UP moment would definitely have to be receiving the GEAR UP scholarship award. It has been the most memorable event because it has helped me pursue my educational goals which couldn’t have been possible without this scholarship.

What are your future career plans?
My future career plans are to graduate with a bachelors in psychology and pursing a masters in Mental Counseling in order to start doing what I love which is helping other.  I plan to work with the younger population paying particular attention to suicide prevention among our youth.
