I am very grateful that GEAR UP really pushes to make college become a reality and a plan and not just a dream.
What is one of the best things about college?
One of the best things about college is the opportunity to explore and find out what you are truly passionate about. It’s hard to choose an organization or activity because there are so many options and I think it makes the college experience better because you are not limited to exploring your interest.
How has GEAR UP helped you?
GEAR UP ultimately helped me decide where I wanted to go to college. The opportunities that I got to tour different college campuses opened my eyes to the options I had to determine where I felt I would fit in and where I could see myself getting an education. I am very grateful that GEAR UP really pushes to make college become a reality and a plan and not just a dream. Furthermore, with the GEAR UP scholarship, it has helped me pay my fees and books which is a big assistance.
What are your future career plans?
After attaining my Bachelor’s degree, I plan to work at Portland State's marketing department. While working for Portland State, I will continue with my graduate studies to get my Master’s degree in business. After, I plan to embark on new opportunities that present and go from there with my career to further develop my experience in the business industry.
