- Oregon Goes To College
Almost 350 students and educators experienced three days of learning and fun at Oregon State University in August with targeted programming for each age group.
Over 60 educators participated in an intensive three-day workshop on growth mindset and social-emotional learning.
Led by the capable team from Seeds Training, the energy coming from this group was infectious. Activities focused on teamwork, cooperation and communication as well as individual reflection on learning styles, gratitude for others and self-image.
Freshman and sophomores participated in Skills Summit from Focus Training. The focus? Crafting a safe and positive digital identity and setting academic and personal goals with plenty of fun team challenges.
Also led by Focus Training, juniors and seniors focused on the pressing issues of the college search and application process as well as financial aid. A highlight? A mock college fair that gave students the opportunity to practice talking to "college reps".
