Over 80 middle and high school students from 19 schools across the state spent a week at Oregon State University learning about natural resources careers and gaining leadership skills. They participated in hands-on activities with the College of Forestry, the Department of Zoology, the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife, Oregon Sea Grant, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Oregon State University's Office of Precollege Programs arranged programming with sponsorship from Oregon GEAR UP.

College student mentors led small groups of students exploring leadership styles and skills, as well as college readiness tips and ways to succeed in high school. Dariyan Woodward, a middle school student from Elkton Charter School, said "This was a fun camp. Thank you for setting up this program! I was able to meet new people and learn new things."
