This year, GEAR UP will be hosting a three-day professional development opportunity for educators concurrently with the Student Leadership Events, August 11-13, 2015, at Oregon State University.

Individuals or teams from GEAR UP schools who are interested in learning how to integrate growth mindset and social emotional learning into educational programs to positively impact student success and wellness should attend. GEAR UP encourages schools to send teams of at least two participants, but individuals may register. Clusters may register up to three participants, and have a wait list of up to two. Registration is now closed.

GEAR UP will provide:

  • Meals in the campus dining hall (lunch on day one through lunch on day three)
  • $600 stipend
  • Lodging in the dorms for participants also serving as chaperones or at the Hilton Garden Inn for participants not serving as chaperones.

Lodging:

  • Workshop participants who are also chaperones at the GEAR UP Student Leadership Event will stay with their students in dorms on the Oregon State University campus. Chaperones will have single rooms. Linens will be provided.  
  • Participants who are not chaperoning students will have a room reserved for them by GEAR UP at the Hilton Garden Inn Corvallis which is located on campus, close to CH2M Hill Alumni Center. Lodging will be paid based on double occupancy, when possible.
