Who Should Attend

  • GEAR UP coordinators (required), administrators, counselors, and college & career staff.
  • Everyone is encouraged to attend both days; Friday is optional for administrators, counselors, and college
    & career staff. CTE teachers are invited to attend on Friday.

 

Lodging Information

Lodging the nights of October 9th and 10th will be available at Comfort Suites, Albany. We will submit a rooming list to the hotel for participants that need lodging. Please indicate lodging needs on the registration form.

 

What will GEAR UP provide?

  • Lodging the nights of October 9th and 10th.
  • Lunch on October 10th and 11th. Note: breakfast provided by Comfort Suites for those staying there.

  • Learn about our new partnership with Student Success Agency (SSA).
    • SSA offers digital services like academic tutoring, mental health support, and postsecondary planning outside of school hours.
    • Their services improve student well-being, expand staff capacity, and ensure success for all.
    • The central office will cover SSA service fees for Oregon GEAR UP high schools.
    • Schools will receive:
      • An assembly
      • 1:1 digital assistance for students
      • Tutoring in over 150 subjects
      • And more!
    • SSA will work directly with districts, handling billing and sharing aggregate data and service hours with GEAR UP.
    •  NOTE: Building administration must sign an agreement for SSA to visit their school. This is an opportunity to hear from SSA in person..
  • Discuss and interpret key data, come up with a story it tells about your schools, then create potential
    action plans for improvement based on new learnings.
  • Meet in role-alike groups.
  • Team planning time.
  • Visit the Central Electrical Training Center and Linn Benton Community College to learn about trades and
    apprenticeship programs.
